Chassis truck (truck chassis) is a ground vehicle of increased weight capacity, which is the basis for mounting and the driving gear for various types of cargo bodies.

The internal combustion engine mounted on the truck may be a diesel, gas, gasoline, or hybrid engine; it may be either placed directly under the driver's cab or may be partially or fully situated under the bonnet. Chassis may have different weight capacity, different number of axles (two, three, less often - four or five) and axle arrangement.

The frame of the truck is designed to make it possible to install various types of freight bodies - both specialized ones (timber transport, trucks-tanks, containers, refrigerators, dump trucks) and special ones (transport of poultry, money transports, auto transporters, horse transports, tow trucks). Moreover, depending on the purpose and work conditions, they may have increased weight capacity, durability and maneuverability (including being equipped with snorkel, automated wheel inflation, winches, and so on).
