Fuel trucks

Fuel truck is a specialized type of truck body, a tank truck designed to transport gasoline and other petroleum products.

Constructively, it is a special tank for transportation of the combustive and lubricating materials mounted on a conventional truck chassis (usually with two or three, more rarely - four axles). Due to the nature of goods carried (their high flammability), the fuel trucks have extremely high requirements to reliability, durability and fire safety, compared with other tank trucks. Capacity of the tank of a fuel truck is, on average, depending on the model, 12,000-26,000 liters. To increase the overall volume of the fuel transported in course of a single trip, these vehicles can also be used as a part of road trains with fuel trailers.

It is also worth mentioning that the refueling truck is in fact a special case of fuel truck, which is designed to deliver fuel directly to the vehicle. To carry out the process of refueling, the refueling truck is equipped with a special pump and fuel dispensing valve (pistol). In many cases, the refueling system may also equipped with a counter of dispatched fuel.
