TILT TRUCKS: SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS AND PURPOSE
A tilt truck is a cargo vehicle whose body is a modification of a common flatbed truck equipped with an additional metal frame covered by tent cloth of medium and high density (about 630-950 g/m²). In comparison to other enclosed-body cars, tilt truck body has a number of advantages and disadvantages.
Main advantages include cheapness of such body, easiness of usage (easy to wash, hardly wrinkles, not corrodible, doesn't require tincturing and painting) and a relatively low weight. Taking into account the specific characteristics of the material, it is easy to cover it with any necessary drawings and writings (logos, advertising mottoes, contact details and so on). Moreover, the tilt can be easily changed or removed (this will allow turning the truck into a common flatbed truck).
On the other hand, it should be mentioned that the tilt body has several disadvantages in comparison to other types of enclosed body. First, it allows for less effective protection from the environmental impacts (however, tilt body is rather effective in protecting from direct sunlight and precipitation). Second, despite rather high density of material, the tilt is significantly lower in hardness than, for example, a metal body. As a result, the probability of damage is much higher both in course of usage and due to malefactors' actions.
Thus, a tilt body for a cargo vehicle is relatively an easy in use and efficient solution for transportation of cargo, which does not require a stable temperature environment, on any distances.
