A truck mounted forklift is a type of forklift that can be mounted on a truck, a trailer or a semitrailer.
In fact, a truck mounted forklift is a kind of three-wheeled material handling equipment with the rear traction wheel, which is capable of turning at an angle of about 90 degrees. However, unlike standard counterparts, the front pair of wheels is not just placed as close as possible to the loading mechanism, but significantly protrudes forward with regard to its masts. Another significant difference is the preponderance of diesel internal combustion motors over electromotors as the basis for the unit-power plant of these machines.
Yet, the main and fundamental distinctive feature of truck mounted forklifts is the fact that their construction provides the opportunity to be aggregated with trucks, semitrailers or trailers. Fairly quickly and without using additional equipment such a loader can be mounted on the rear of the vehicle, and on arrival at their destination – dismounted equally quickly.
This system allows the freight forwarder to independently carry out the operations of loading and unloading of the body, and as a consequence - not to depend on the availability of free loaders and/or to save money in case these operations are charged additionally.
