Been running Dailys on and off for years and drove the refreshed 2024 one recently. It still feels like a truck-based van, for better and worse. At 3.5t you do give up some payload because of the ladder chassis, but if you do heavier work or weird builds (box body, crane, etc) that chassis makes life easier.
Driving-wise, that 8-speed Hi-Matic auto is the bit I noticed straight away. In Eco it shifts early and just rides the torque, and on descents it actually drops a gear for engine braking without me messing around in manual. Around tight roads it felt sorted. Ride is also surprisingly good unladen, the rear springs don’t bounce you around like some big vans do.
Cab is finally dragged into this decade. Big digital dash, decent centre screen, TomTom Live nav, phone mirroring, wireless charging. Reversing camera picture is clear and the guide lines help when you’re backing into stupid little bays. Only thing that bugs me a bit is the fleet connectivity stuff where someone in the office can lock settings like Eco mode / lane keeping… I get why fleets want it, but yeah, not everyone loves that.
Safety kit list is long (ACC with traffic jam, blind spot, cross-traffic brake when reversing). For delivery work that rear cross traffic warning is handy.
Warranty and service intervals are fine on paper (2 years / 25k), price is not cheap but not wild for what it is.

I’ve run a couple IVECO Daily vans over the years doing local drops and some longer motorway runs. The big thing with the Daily is it feels more “truck-ish” than a lot of vans. Steering has decent weight and it tracks straight, even loaded, so you’re not constantly correcting it. Suspension is okay but you still feel sharp bumps when the back’s empty.
Cab’s practical. Seats do the job for a full shift, but the noise and vibration can creep in on rough roads. It’s not awful, just not as quiet as some newer rivals. Reliability-wise, the ones I’ve had were solid if you stay on top of servicing. Miss oil changes and you’ll pay for it. Parts and workshop time can sting a bit depending where you are, so budget for that.
Overall it’s a work tool, not a fancy place to hang out, but it handles weight well and it doesn’t feel flimsy.
