Isothermal vans

An isothermal van is a type of body of a light truck based on a conventional van. A distinctive feature of this modification is the ability for maintenance of a stable temperature inside the working volume of the body during a considerable time period.

As it is known, a wide range of vehicles equipped with isothermal body is commonly used for carriage of those categories of cargo, preservation of which depends on creation and maintenance of special conditions during storage and transportation. Apart from indispensable protection from the precipitation, dirt and direct sunlight (most types of closed bodies perfectly cope with this task), in this case there is a specific requirement of stable temperature maintenance, regardless of the weather conditions outside.

When there is a need to transport relatively small batches of such goods (primarily they are medicaments, food products and living plants), it is simply not efficient to hire large trucks, so isothermal vans with the total permitted weight below 3.5 tons are used. Isothermal vans have a special thermal insulation layer of foam plastic, urethane plastic foam or foam polystyrene in the walls of the cargo body and a system of hermetic door locks.
