Drove the new Citaro for my city route this week. The improved fuel efficiency is noticeable, which is a big plus given the current operational costs. However, I felt the driver's cabin, while ergonomic, could use slightly better seat cushioning for long shifts.

Driving the Citaro has been quite an experience. The driver’s seat is adjustable and genuinely provides good support during long hours. The automatic four-speed gearbox is responsive yet could use a bit more efficiency at higher speeds. The door operation is smooth and noise-free, offering a quieter ride for passengers. Still, the overall lighting inside relies on conventional daylight bulbs, which might need modernization. Moving on, I find the onboard passenger information system easy to operate and reliable.

So, I drove an Atego 1523 with the manual box for a bunch of years. Manual is weirdly indestructible, but the shift linkages get sloppy as the miles go up - sometimes you’re hunting for gears, not fun when you’re tired. I had to stay on top of the wheel hub maintenance too, especially after hauling pretty hefty loads, and if you skip the oil changes or don’t spot leaks, the axle repairs get expensive fast. On the bright side, the brakes are powerful but the caliper guide pins can wear out unless you replace the seals on time, so watch for that. Inside’s roomy but basic, nothing fancy. It’s solid machinery but you’ve got to look after it, or it’ll bite back.

Truck tractor Mercedes-Benz Actros

Been driving the Actros for a while and gotta say, the BigSpace cab is something I appreciate. I do a lot of overnight trips and having that much room to move around makes things way less cramped than some other rigs. The storage is decent, I’ve got enough lockers for all my junk, plus having all the digital stuff like two screens on the dash is kinda cool. Sometimes the menus can be a bit fiddly when you’re trying to change something quick, but once you get used to it, it’s all good. Honestly can’t complain about the seats - heating and cooling for all seasons? Wish every truck had that. Only bit that’s annoyed me is, compared to some other trucks, the Actros isn’t cheap, especially if you want the snazzy features. But it’s solid for long hauls. Not a single breakdown yet after a year on the road.

I've driven all sorts of vans over the years, so when I got the Sprinter for my delivery route, I was pretty keen to see what the hype was about. The first thing I noticed is the space in the back - you can actually fit tall and long items without trying weird angles. That wide sliding door saves you time on big parcels. The dashboard's tech is a bit over-complicated in my opinion-I could've done without the fancy voice controls most days. The touch screen was alright, although sometimes the sunlight made it pretty hard to see. Visibility is top notch out the front and those mirrors are huge, makes changing lanes less stressful. Wind noise is a headache on the motorway though. Been through a few services already, nothing too expensive but a couple of the techy bits come at a price. I still wish the cupholders fit a normal bottle. All in all, gets the job done.

I've had the chance to drive the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter recently, and I've got to say, it's a practical vehicle, especially for business use. The front-wheel-drive option stood out for its improved load floor height, making loading easier. However, I noticed the safety features, while advanced, can sometimes be overly sensitive, such as lane assist lightly braking unnecessarily. Overall, the blend of power options and usability makes it a solid choice for its class.

Been driving Sprinters on and off for years. This new one steers predictably and the ride stays composed even when you’re fully loaded - that makes a long day less tiring. Seats are big and properly padded, I can do full shifts without my back screaming. The 143PS 2.1 with 330Nm is my go-to: plenty of low‑down pull and decent economy for a van this size. Payload is impressive too - useful when you need to stack Euro pallets. Downsides: the nicer tech bits cost extra and some of the dashboard lids have fiddly buttons that pop open. Overall I trust it to get work done, and the Mercedes Pro connect is handy for keeping on top of faults and economy.

I used to drive on domestic minibuses before, I like Mercedes - there is more space for the driver and for passengers, easy to handle, quiet and smooth ride. The bus is large, it is easier for passengers to board thanks to the low floor.

I like the quiet operation of the doors, reliable 12L diesel engine, adjustable seat, and informative dashboard. I can accelerate up to 50 km in 15 seconds. Not very satisfied with the salon heating, but this is related to our winters.
