Platform semi-trailers

The platform semi-trailer is a type of open-body semi-trailers, which constitutes a cargo platform without a roof or side boards. It can have, on average, from two to eight axles, with one or several being retractable, which reduces tire wear at empty running. In the front part, there is a support platform with a pivot designed to concatenate with the fifth wheel mechanism of the tractor, and, as a rule, extensible jack pads for maintaining the horizontal position when parked separate from the tractor.
