Container chassis trailer is a kind of open-body cargo trailer designed for transportation of ISO-containers and other similar packaged goods whose parameters correspond to the requirements of the standard 20-foot equivalent.

The construction of the container chassis is based on the truck trailer chassis, most often with two to four wheel axles. On the frame of such trailer, there are guideways and fastening mechanisms installed to ensure secure fixing of the transport containers during transportation. Depending on the specific model, container chassis trailers may be adapted to transport one twenty-foot (TEU, 6.1 m) or one forty-foot (FEU, 2 TEU, 12.2 m) container. Many TEU-trailers can also easily carry a 35-foot, 45-foot or two 20-foot containers. The width of such standardized containers is 8 feet (2.44 m), and its height varies in the range of 4 feet 3 inches (1.3 m) to 8 feet 6 inches (2.6 m). Some container chassis trailers have sliding frame design, which allows successfully using the same trailer for a variety of transportation problems, adjusting its length to the dimensions of each individual container.
