Silo truck is a sub-type of specialized truck body - tank truck intended for transportation of bulk loose dry cargo, in particular, combination fodder.

The cargo reservoirs of most modern silo trucks are made ​​either of stainless steel or of aluminum alloys, which in the second case allows significantly reducing the weight of the body itself, thereby increasing the maximum weight of the shipped cargo. Often silo trucks are equipped with tanks having two or more isolated sealed sections, which allows simultaneously transporting different types of cargo. The total volume of such tanks is on average between 10 m3 and 36 m3.

Loading of the body is usually conducted through the top hatches. Unloading is done with the use of pneumatic transport powered by special compressors through the blowing-out node, where all volume of the cargo moves by gravity via discharge cones located in the lower part of the body. Many models of silo trucks tanks can also be equipped with auger-type discharge system.

It is important to mention that silo trucks are used for transportation of other dry bulk products as well, including those of food (grain, flour, sugar, bran, malt) and non-food (cement) types, as well as for loading drills in the course of planting operations.
